A little surprised, maybe? Yes, you're on the right site. As you can see, after a long while, we have changed the ABD theme! Fitting for Spring. And xHWA has designed us a gorgeous new logo. Did you notice the oil lamp under the blog title? It says ABD. Pretty kewl, huh? Thanks xHWA! And thanks for putting up with my picky taste. :D
Anyway, hope you all love the new look as much as we do!
Happy Spring & God bless you all in your quest for His truth!

It is important that you understand; Everything on this blog is based on the current understanding of each author. Never take anyone's word for it, always prove it for yourself, it is your responsibility. You cannot ride someone else's coattail into the Kingdom.
Acts 17:11

I personally love the new look.
ReplyDeleteIt took us a while, but you do have good taste, Seeker my friend.
I would like to find out more about you and the organization or church that you follow/ attend, please.

That would depend on the individual writer. We have only the one thing in common, we absolutely don't belong to any legalistic cults anymore. We believe in the completed work of Jesus and depend on him for our salvation and for the Holy spirit to form his goodness in us, and therefore we do not believe in the acquisition of righteousness through our own efforts; therefore in all things the glory belongs to the Lord Jesus and the everlasting Father.
ReplyDeleteHello Tom,
ReplyDeleteThe contributing authors at As Bereans Did previously attended the Worldwide Church of God and/or its splinter organizations. You may know the Worldwide Church of God as being the church Herbert W Armstrong founded. We have since left.
Today, it's like Luc said above.
As Bereans Did is geared towards proving or refuting the teachings of Herbert W Armstrong and his ideological descendants. Mostly, we find ourselves refuting.
xHWA,
ReplyDeleteOf course, I too, love the new look. We make a good team, and yes, I DO have good taste! ; )
I believe the studies we've done are useful for people who haven't a similar background to ours. Because of the necessity of digging deeply into the word of God to acquire our freedom, we have let the bible be our source resisting a man prejudicing our results. We value truth over loyalty to an organization or theological descent of any concept.
ReplyDeleteHi Tom!
ReplyDeleteWe're not of a "religion", simply, we are Christians. We are followers of Christ Jesus, and no longer followers of men. We don't let anyone come between us and Christ.
Because we don't want anyone to put their trust in us, rather than in our LORD and Savior Jesus, almost every post includes this statement: "It is important that you understand; Everything on this blog is based on the current understanding of each author. Never take anyone's word for it, always prove it for yourself, it is your responsibility. You cannot ride someone else's coattail into the Kingdom."
You can read, in the right hand column of the blog:
"CONFIDENCE TO ENTER MOST HOLY PLACE
(From Hebrews 10:19)"
You can also read the "Welcome" in the right hand column near the top.
This blog emphasizes Acts 17:11
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."
We are here to share what we learn in our walk with Him, with others and to help those who are caught up in; thinking of leaving; or have left a legalistic "church" or cult.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day. : )
